The Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (Commencement No. 12) Order 2003

In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 166(3) and 170(4) of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999[1], the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

Citation
    1.This Order may be cited as the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (Commencement No. 12) Order 2003.

Commencement
    2.The provisions of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order shall come into force on the date specified in column 2 of that Schedule, but where a particular purpose is specified in relation to any such provision in column 3 of that Schedule, the provision concerned shall come into force on that date only for that purpose.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order brings into force on 10th February 2003 section 53(1) to (4), (6) and (7), and section 54 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999. This Order also brings into force section 25 of that Act on 17th February 2003 for the purpose of enabling the Secretary of State to make subordinate legislation under section 25, and brings section 25 into force, so far as not already in force, on 1st April 2003.
