The Gaming Act (Variation of Fees) Order 1988

In pursuance of sections 48(5) and 51(4) of the Gaming Act 1968[1], I hereby make the following Order: 1.(1) This Order may be cited as the Gaming Act (Variation of Fees) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 1st March 1988.
(2) This Order shall not extend to Scotland.
2. Section 48(3)(h) of the Gaming Act 1968 (under which the fee to be charged for the grant or renewal of a permit under section 34 of that Act is £8.50) shall have effect with the substitution, for the sum referred to therein, of a reference to £25. 3. The Gaming Act (Variation of Fees) Order 1983[2] is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)This Order increases in England and Wales the fee to be charged under the Gaming Act 1968 for the grant or renewal of a permit under section 34 of that Act for premises where gaming machines are used.
