The Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) Order 1992

    The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(1) and (2) of, and paragraphs 1 and 2 of Schedule 3 to, the Public Expenditure and Receipts Act 1968[1] and now vested in him[2] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following order:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) Order 1992 and shall come into force on 1st April 1992.
    Fees payable
        2.    The fees payable in England and Wales under each of the enactments specified in column 2 of the Schedule to this Order in respect of the matters specified in column 2 shall be the fees specified in relation thereto in column 4 and each of those enactments shall have effect accordingly.
    Revocation of Order
            The provisions of this Order shall have effect in place of the provisions of the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) (No. 2) Order 1992[3] (under which the fees payable were as respectively set out in column 5 of the Schedule to this Order) and that Order is accordingly revoked.

Notes:

[1] 1968 c. 14; paragraph 1 of Schedule 3 was amended by paragraph 21 of Schedule 9 to the Friendly Societies Act 1974 (c. 46) and by paragraph 33 of Schedule 2 to the Social Security (Consequential Provisions) Act 1975 (c. 18). By virtue of section 2(2) of the Marriage Act 1983 (c. 32) the reference to the Marriage Act 1949 (c. 76) in the said Schedule 3 includes a reference to that Act as amended by the 1983 Act.

[2] Article 2 of the Secretary of State for Social Services Order (see S.I. 1968/1699) transferred all functions of the Minister of Health to the Secretary of State for Social Services and article 2(1) of the Transfer of Functions (Health and Social Security) Order 1988 (see S.I. 1988/1843) transferred certain of those functions, including those in relation to registgration of births, deaths and marriages to the Secretary of State for Health.
