The Education (Grants) (Travellers and Displaced Persons) (Amendment) Regulations 1991

    In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 210 and 232(5) of the Education Reform Act 1988[1], the Secretary of State for Education and Science, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, hereby make the following Regulations:
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Grants) (Travellers and Displaced Persons) (Amendment) Regulations 1991 and shall come into force on 22nd February 1991.
        2.    Paragraph (3) of regulation 7 of the Education (Grants) (Travellers and Displaced Persons) Regulations 1990[2] shall be amended by the substitution for the words "a payment equal to half" of the words "asuch payment as the Scretary of State may determine but not exceeding three-quarters of".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations amend the Education (Grants) (Travellers and Displaced Persons) Regulations 1990 so as to vary from a half to a sum determined by the Secretary of State but not exceeding three-quarters the amount of grant which may be paid forthwith where an application for grant, in respect of estimated approved expenditure during the quarter commencing on 1st January in any year, has been submitted to the Secretary of State on or before 15th March in that year.
