The A205 Trunk Road (Greenwich) Red Route (Banned Turns) Traffic Order 1998

The Traffic Director for London, in accordance with a direction given to him by the Secretary of State under section 58(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1991[1] and in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[2], and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order: - 

Commencement and citation
    1.This Order may be cited as The A205 Trunk Road (Greenwich) Red Route (Banned Turns) Traffic Order 1998, and shall come into force on 16th January 1998.

Interpretation
    2.In this Order - 

    "the trunk road" means the A205 Trunk Road in the London Borough of Greenwich;

    "central reservation" means that part of the trunk road which separates its carriageway for the safety and guidance of vehicular traffic using that road.

Prohibition
    3.Subject to the provisions of article 4 below, no person shall, cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed through the gap in the central reservation of the A205 Trunk Road opposite its junction with Philippa Gardens or opposite its junction with Legatt Road.

Exemptions
    4.Nothing in this Order shall apply - 

    (a) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a traffic warden; or

    (b) to a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes.
